Brief:
Create a digital learning platform highlighting the existence of coops across all areas of our lives, with custom illustration and printed support materials for schools.

Central Coop’s educational wing required an interactive learning tool to help show how coops form part of our lives in everyday places.

The project was a group-funded venture led by Central Coop, with support from Midcounties and Heart of England Coops. We created a custom microsite complete with bespoke illustrations depicting various sectors and the coops within them. Each slide featured a clickable illustration and contained further information on what a coop within that sector looks like.

We started with seven major sectors; Retail, Energy, Education, Housing, Creative, Business and Finance.  Within each sector was a summary of the category, and a case study from a real-life coop operating within that industry. The sideways slide feature also allows us to easily add on more sectors as the project progresses.

The site also houses a number of informational pages including the History of Coops and information on Careers in Coops.

As part of the website experience, we integrated a mini quiz enabling users to test their knowledge of coops. The quiz was integrated with social media, allowing a user to answer a question, then share the result on their social media channel with a corresponding fact image. This social post would also prompt other followers to visit the site and try it out themselves, driving further sustainable traffic to the website.

Educational Games

After the website’s launch, we subsequently created two card games to support the website’s content and assist with in-person learning. The first was a simple question-and-answer flashcard game featuring multiple-choice questions about all things Central Coop.

The second was a higher-or-lower style card game using giant-sized playing cards showing various numerical facts relating to the coop and its products. Both sets of cards were produced under the Coop Education banner using further custom illustrations, in keeping with the brand style of the website,
