Colchester City Council wanted to produce an interactive illustrated map, showcasing the upcoming development and regeneration projects over the coming years.
The map features bespoke isometric line illustrations overlaid on a custom Google Map, allowing users to navigate in a manner already familiar to them. Each location pop-up featured a larger custom illustration showing the project in more detail, along with a description and link to learn more about the project. Visually impaired users could also navigate using their screen readers to ensure accessibility needs were met.
We produced over 30 custom illustrations for the project, with a view to extend the collection as and when new local projects arise in and around Colchester.
